Church School Awards: St. Mark's has received a heartfelt thank you from Karen Stewart on behalf of Educarte Escuela de Victoria. This outreach was led by St. Mark's Church School, sending gifts of shoes, school supplies, and craft items to our neighbors in Mexico. Look at the bulletin board for fun pictures of the kids with their new shoes!

Vacation Bible School is coming soon! Calling all kids, youth volunteers and adults! St. Mark's True North VBS is coming soon. It begins on Monday June 2nd through Friday June 6th from 9am to 11:30am for kids ages 4 to 11. Youth helpers are welcome and encouraged to mentor the younger kids and help out with teams. Adults are needed to help with snacks and as Team Leaders. Kids and volunteers please register now to save your spot at: www.myvbs.org/stmarksmesa. Flyers are in the back of the church for more information. Everyone is welcome! For questions please contact Dianne Nunez at cell: 480-694-8950.

Food Pantry: May set-up days: May 12th and 26th , 7-9 am.
Distribution:
May 13th and 27th, 8-10:30am. God Bless everyone for supporting our mission to help the food insecure in Mesa!

The food pantry wants to thank you for all the food that was given during Advent. We would like to continue collecting food. If you could give food monthly it would help our budget go further. We are in need of peanut butter and jelly, cereal, canned vegetables or beans. There will be a box in the narthex to deposit the food items. Thank you for helping us.

Thrift Store: Mark Downs thrift store is open Friday and Saturdays 9-1, food pantry Tuesdays and Sunday mornings before church from 9 to 9:45. We accept clean, new and gentle. clean, new or gently used donations are accepted during our hours of operation. We have beautiful Mother’s Day gifts and our Mother’s Day cards and greeting cards are $.25 each. We have copies of Fr. Lucian and Skip Haley‘s books in the store. Both are fascinating reads. There are amazing sales each week.

We will close in July and reopen after Labor Day weekend. We are however open every Food Pantry Tuesday all year long. (Summer schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.) We could still use 1 or 2 more volunteers on Fridays, even if it’s only twice a month. Please contact Diane Lewis with any questions.

Office Hours: Beginning June 1, 2025, The Church Office will be open on Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 12Noon.

This is a heartfelt plea for help! I need assistance to continue providing receptions for funerals and memorial services for members of our congregation. We have no way of planning for these events and often they occur on short notice. I am asking for people who could be called upon as these occasions arise and I recognize that most cannot assist at every event. But this ministry will not be able to continue if I don’t get your attention and help. There are two lists in the narthex. One is for set-up, serving and cleanup. The other is for setting up tables and chairs. Please search your heart and sign up to help us continue this important ministry. In Christ’s love. Judy Hossack.
