Cursillo The purpose of Cursillo is to help us understand our individual calling to be Christian leaders and help us to renew and deepen our Christian commitment and ministry. Active members of Cursillo attend a Three-Day Cursillo Weekend in order to focus on what is fundamental for being a Christian and to learn the Cursillo method. The next weekend is scheduled for July 14-17, 2016. We hold a weekly group reunion at noon each Wednesday in the Conference Room. Daughters of the King The Daughters of the King is an international Order for women of the Episcopal Church. The Chapter at St. Mark’s is the Hilda of Whitby Chapter. Daughters dedicate themselves to a life of prayer, service, and personal evangelism. Our chapter meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from September to May at 9:00 in the Conference Room All women of the parish are welcome to join us. Episcopal Church Women & Men (ECWM) We encourage all women and men to join us as we use our God-given gifts to enrich our parish as we worship God. The Episcopal Church Women is an organization which is part of the National Church, and we welcome our St. Mark's Men as well. We meet on the second Sunday of the month at 12:15 in Knight Hall. Office Angels We provide clerical assistance and a presence in the front office for visitors to our church. Angels answer telephones, greet visitors, make copies, file, assemble service bulletins/booklets, and various other projects under the direction of the Vicar and Ministry leader, Gloria McManus. Pastoral Care Serve God by being present and available for the community of St. Mark’s and local areas during time of physical or spiritual need. Our Lay Eucharistic Visitors bring the sacrament of Holy Eucharist to those who are unable to come to church. A part of this ministry is meeting the needs and concerns of the dying or the bereaved, and supporting persons in circumstances surrounding end-of-life issues. Our group operates year round and meets in the church office on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30 P.M. Please contact Elaine Austin at email@example.com for more information.
Property Maintenance Led by our Junior Warden, Bob Cheatham, the Property Committee is responsible for the maintenance issues and upkeep of our property. During the spring, summer, and fall, we look for a group of volunteers to help twice a month on Saturday with moving, raking, sweeping, and generally cleaning up the place.
Scriptorium Designed to help people discover the Bible through the art of illumination and calligraphy. We meet on Wednesday at 6:00 P.M. in Knight Hall. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Deb Cannon at 480-964-5820.
