"If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. John 14:15-16 The Advocate, whom we usually call the Holy Spirit, is a constant guide for us, a constant encouragement to love God, our neighbor and ourselves. The Advocate will be with us forever, guiding, encouraging, uplifting, caring. Do The Work Of The One Who Sent You” Jesus said, “We must do the work of the one who sent me.” John 9:4 We are all called here to St. Mark’s. We may not have known it at the time, but God has called us all to do his work here in and through this place. We are called through our worship and praise, our prayers, and our service to others through our ministries. For all of this to happen, we need your continued support. St. Mark’s needs your time, talent, and also importantly your treasure. Your continued support helps the ministries reach out into our community. If you miss the fun events and activities of the past, volunteer your time and talent to bring them back! We also need your continued giving of the treasure that God gave you to do His work. You can give by check, cash, or credit card online. On our website, you can choose either PayPal or FaithStreet to donate. This season is a perfect time to bring a friend or family to a service or an event. When you do this, you are spreading the Good News about Jesus and St. Mark’s. Veterans: We are revising our bulletin boards. If you are a veteran, please submit your picture, branch and years served to the church office. There will also be an envelope in the narthex. Thank you! Altar Guild: The Altar Guild needs new members. Would you like to join us in preparing the altar and sanctuary for church services, Holy Communion, and other observances? This is a fulfilling as well as educational ministry. Call Diane Lewis, 480-414-5497. Thank you! MarkDowns Thrift Store: Mother’s Day is Sunday May 14. St Mark’s Thrift Store has collectibles, new and gently used clothing, home decor at low prices. Buy something for Mom, and get a free Mother’s Day card. In addition, this weekend, all clothing will be half price. Check out the St Marks Facebook Page for photos. Thanks for all your support. Support our church with your shopping, donations, and offering to volunteer where you can with the thrift store. See Diane Lewis for more information. We also welcome volunteers who basically want to help us from home, doing such projects as ironing, sorting through our greeting cards, all at the leisure of your own home. Open every Friday and Saturday 9:00 to 1:00 and in conjunction with the Food pantry distribution schedule every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 8-noon. Show your love by supporting our thrift store! Sunday School: St. Mark's Sunday School is having lots of fun and learning the Good News. The kids meet in the classrooms at 9am to 9:45am, with Pre-K to 2nd Grade in Room 7 and Grades 3 and up in Room 2. Check out the upcoming events:
Food Pantry: The Food Pantry will return indoors starting in May! Masks will be required and hand sanitizer will be provided. Twenty families only will be served indoors at a time. We'll take every precaution to distribute food safely. We need volunteers to sign folks in and volunteers to push carts, bilingual volunteers, friendly, smiling volunteers ready to help or just say hi! Distribution for the month of May will be on May 9 and May 23rd. Our set up day will be Monday, May 8th and 22nd 8AM-11AM. Distribution time will be from 8:30am-10:30am. May God bless you for supporting St. Mark’s Food Pantry! Daughters of the King: The Daughters of the King would like your help in supporting a local domestic abuse center. This center places a strong emphasis in encouraging families to look for positive aspects in their lives, despite going through tremendous hardships and struggles. One way to assist them is to provide gratitude journals. We are going to decorate these journals and fill them with positive affirmations. We are asking help in providing any of the following: journals, individually wrapped pens, PA jagged of water color pencils, stickers and sheet protectors. We also will be collecting small travel sized hygiene items. For questions, contact Cyndi Armstrong or Mary Twentyman. CURRENT SERVICES: You can join us for services live at the following times, or watch the recording any time at your convenience:
