Children’s Book Drive: The Church Women United have elected to direct there May Mission project to My Own Books. My Own Books was founded by Mary Twentyman with the purpose of giving books to children who lack literacy resources in their homes. These children are given the opportunity to select up to 10 books to establish their our own home library. If you are interested in supporting this charity, a box will be in the narthex of the church where you can place new or gently-used children’s books for children from birth to six grade. Monetary donations are welcome since books are able to be purchased at extremely discounted prices. With summer approaching, the need is great. Children can lose several months of progress if they do not read during the summer. My Own Books have given over 64,000 books to deserving children and with your help that number will grow. Any questions or for a tax receipt, please contact Mary Twentyman at email@example.com. English and Spanish books please!
