Today's Readings: Exodus 24:12-18; Psalm 99; 2 Peter 1:16-21; Matthew 17:1-9 Noticias Re"Mark"ados (anuncios en español) Invest In Hope: Then Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here.” Matthew 17:4 Peter is thrilled to experience the glorious majesty of Jesus seen in the Transfiguration. Later on, Peter gave his all to spread the gospel of Jesus. Although we haven’t seen the Transfiguration, we, like Peter, are invited to spread the gospel by our words and actions. Daughters of the King Shoe Drive: Members of the DOK are asking for gently worn or new women’s shoes (please no sandals, flip flops or heels) for women leaving prison as some have no shoes when they are released. Altar Guild: Members of St. Mark’s, we need your help to carry out the tasks of the Altar Guild for all services (before and after mass). Please talk to Father Gerardo if you are willing to help. Thanks in advance! Join Us for our Lenten Program: On Wednesdays during Lent, we will begin with Stations of the Cross at 10 am, followed by the healing Eucharist as usual. After the service, there will be a Lenten Program and everyone is encouraged to bring a bag lunch. On Fridays, we will begin with the Soup Supper at 6 pm in Knight Hall with Lenten Program during dinner, followed by Stations of the Cross inside the church. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19 We choose life when we follow the words and example of Jesus in doing unto others as we would have them do unto us. It’s a simple rule, at least simple in the saying of it… but frequently hard in the doing. Perhaps a few minute’s thoughts about it each day would be a good thing. Food & Fellowship Ministry: Food and Fellowship will gather on February 16th after the 10 AM service. We will meet in the Conference Room located off the back hallway of Knight Hall. I encourage anyone interested in serving St. Mark’s Church to attend. We work hard and strong backs are needed! But , I promise we will have fun and laughter! This is beautiful way to make new friendships and work at building a STRONGER Church for all our Parishioners. Please contact Judy Hossack at 480-612-1391 for more information. The work of a steward is effective not only in the work itself but also in the witness it gives. Food & Fellowship Ministry: Food and Fellowship will gather on February 16th after the 10 AM service. Micah 6:8 Jesus would have been familiar with this statement from the prophet Micah, and we can wonder how much it informed his own view of God. What does it tell us about the God we serve? What acts of justice, and what deeds of kindness, and what humble walking does it ask of us? Upcoming Ministry Meetings:
