Together in Faith:
When the disciples heard (the voice from the cloud), they fell to the ground and were overcome by fear. But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Get up and do not be afraid.” Matthew 17:6-7

Throughout the gospels, Jesus is constantly telling people not to be afraid. Jesus wasn’t ignoring frightening things, he was simply encouraging people to face fear with faith and confidence.

Bishop's Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there will be an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. The liaisons will bring all comments to the monthly meeting of the Bishop's Committee to be addressed as appropriate. This is one small step the committee is taking to unite our church and improve communications within our family. A schedule of each week's liaison will be visibly posted in the Narthex and the assigned liaison will attend both English services and Lion's Den on Sunday so they are available to receive any input from parishioners. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Judy Hossack.

Chapel Rock Sunday: Bishop Smith has designated March 5th as Chapel Rock Sunday throughout the Diocese. On that day, the Bishop is asking each church and congregation members to support the Chapel Rock Campership Fund for the Benefit of our children and youth. The experiences that our campers have at Chapel Rock are life changing and extraordinary. Every year, when we read camper evaluations, camper after camper says, “That was the best week of my summer!” It is fun, Christ-centered, and provides the opportunity to grow closer to God through the beauty and power of our Episcopal Church traditions. Help send children and youth to camp this Summer! There will be a collection taken to support the campership fund Sunday, March 5th. You can also go to Chapel Rock’s website, www.chapelrock.net/donate.htm to contribute securely online.

Together in Faith:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies.” Matthew 5:43-44

Jesus’ words surely sounded as incredible to the first hearers as they do to us. The radical acceptance of Jesus requires a mighty leap of faith and a tremendous spirit of generosity. How are we to respond?

Together in Faith: Before each person are life and death, and whichever one you choose will be given to you. Sirach 15:17

A steward sometimes has the ability to improve the life of another, through a gift of money, time, encouragement, support and prayer. Let’s grown in our awareness of the power we have to touch the life of someone else.

Liturgical Decorations: The flowers on the Altar are sponsored today by Raymond E Nunez in loving memory of his wife Barbara Anne Nunez: “You were called up by our Lord 6 years ago, February 11, 2011. You are missed every day. May you rest in peace in Heaven till we meet again.”

Together in Faith: “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Jesus’ advice shows a keen understanding of the power of example. A good steward realizes that while of course there is a time for private generosity, there are also times when public generosity will encourage other people to perform good works too.
