Together in Faith:   As Jesus walked along, he saw a man blind from birth.  John 9:1

Jesus seems to have always been on the lookout for people in need, people he could care for, people he could lovingly touch, people he could encourage.  Lent is a great time for us to follow his example.

Bishop's Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there will be an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. The liaisons will bring all comments to the monthly meeting of the Bishop's Committee to be addressed as appropriate. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Bob Cheatham.

United Thank Offering Ingathering: We are conducting the final ingathering for UTO today.  Please write a check for the amount of coins that were in your UTO box, payable to St. Mark’s. Place it in a marked envelope, located in the narthex, and put it in the offering plate. (If you need help locating the envelopes, please see an usher.)  Thank you for your support of this important ministry.

Easter Flowers: Memorialize a loved one or offer thanks by supporting our Liturgical Arrangements ministry at Easter. Please fill out an Easter Flowers form found in the pew pockets or Narthex and enclose it with your payment in the envelope provided. Please turn in all requests no later than Wednesday, April 5th.

Together in Faith: “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?” Matthew 5:46- 4

Jesus once again invites us to step outside our comfort zones and reach out to those different from us, those who lack what we have, those we might not be inclined to care for. Lent is a good time to put Jesus’ challenging encouragement into practice.

Thank You: A special thanks to the Mesa Caledonian Pipe Band for their performance of some of our music today! They will be back again on Palm Sunday, April 9th to play our procession.

This is one small step the committee is taking to unite our church and improve communications within our family. A schedule of each week's liaison will be visibly posted in the Narthex and the assigned liaison will attend both English services and Lion's Den on Sunday so they are available to receive any input from parishioners. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Terry Gordon.

United Thank Offering Ingathering: We are conducting the final ingathering for UTO on Sunday, March 29th. Please write a check for the amount of coins that were in your UTO box, payable to St. Mark’s. Place it in a marked envelope, located in the narthex, and put it in the offering plate. (If you need help locating the envelopes, please see an usher.) Thank you for your support of this important ministry.

Together in Faith: Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.” Genesis 12:1

The journey of Abraham to a new land is really the beginning of the Jewish-Christian story. Abraham’s willingness to step out in faith and persistence encourages us to do the same as we journey through this season of Lent.

This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Anali Perry.

Reminder: Next Sunday, March 19th, there will be one service in English at 10 am. The Mesa Caledonian Pipe Band will be providing much of our service music at this service in commemoration of St. Patrick.

Together in Faith: “Go away, Satan! for it is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.” Matthew 4:10

The season of Lent reminds us that we are to serve God first and foremost. Clearly this is a lofty goal! Let’s do our best to approach this Lent as an opportunity for renewal, growth and grace.

Bishop's Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there will be an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Paige Stalcup.

Chapel Rock Sunday: Bishop Smith has designated today, March 5th as Chapel Rock Sunday throughout the Diocese. The Bishop is asking each church and congregation members to support the Chapel Rock Campership Fund for the Benefit of our children and youth. The experiences that our campers have at Chapel Rock are life changing and extraordinary. Every year, when we read camper evaluations, camper after camper says, “That was the best week of my summer!” It is fun, Christ-centered, and provides the opportunity to grow closer to God through the beauty and power of our Episcopal Church traditions. Help send children and youth to camp this Summer! There will be a collection taken to support the campership fund Sunday, March 5th. You can also go to Chapel Rock’s website, www.chapelrock.net/ donate.htm to contribute securely online.
