Noticias Re"Mark"adas (anuncios espanol) Together in Faith: "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" - Matthew 22:36 Talk about a softball question! Though meant to entrap, it allowed Jesus to succinctly describe his message: love God, Love your neighbor and love yourself. Bishop's Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there will be an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. Noticias Re"Mark"adas (anuncios espanol) Together in Faith: So the Pharisees sent their disciples to Jesus, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are sincere, and teach the way of God in accordance with truth, and show deference to no one; for you do not regard people with partiality.” Matthew 22:16 Even though the Pharisees were insincere and facetious in their praise of Jesus, they were right! He didn’t regard people with partiality. As stewards of the Kingdom of God, we too are invited to care for all, regardless of their place in society. Noticias Re"Mark"adas (anuncios espanol) Together in Faith: “Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go therefore into the main streets, and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet.’” Matthew 22:8-9 This would certainly be an odd wedding reception, filled with strangers who were probably happy just to get something to eat. So the kingdom Jesus envisions welcomes people we would never consider… something to think about! Together in Faith: “Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that produces the fruits of the kingdom.” Matthew 21:43 In one of his harsher parables, Jesus indicts church leaders and members who fail to be faithful stewards of what they have been given. The parable invites us to reflect upon our own use of God’s gifts to us.
