Together in Faith: "When you are invited to a wedding banquet, do not sit at the place of honor...instead go and sit at the lowest place." Luke 14:8-10
For the people listening to Jesus tell this story, deliberately sitting at a back table nearest the kitchen at a public event like a wedding banquet would be almost unthinkable! But once again, Jesus invites his hearers, and us, to embrace a new way of thinking, a way that emphasizes not our own good but the good of others. Upcoming Ministry Meetings:

Together in Faith: “I came to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!” Luke 12:49 What is the fire that Jesus says he has brought to the earth? Of course there can be many answers, but perhaps they’re best summed up in his call to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves. Loving God, others and ourselves is a mighty fire! Important Announcement from Fr. Gerardo to the Congregation: This is to inform our congregation that I recently met with Mr. Don Henney who tendered his resignation as Senior Warden for personal reasons. Kevin Nunez will resume the role of Senior Warden until January when a replacement can be selected and appointed. I would like to thank Don Henney for all of his dedication, hard work and efforts while he fulfilled the post of Senior Warden. It was greatly appreciated. Don will continue to be a part of our church family and he has offered to help us as he usually does, whenever we need him. Back to School Supplies: It’s that time of year again! The Food Pantry is asking for school supplies that will be given out during our July and August food pantry distributions. There will be a collection box available in the narthex. Thank you in advance for your continued generosity. Upcoming Ministry Meetings:

Together in Faith: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12:34 Every person intuitively recognizes the truth of Jesus’ statement. We may not care for its implications for us personally, but we know that what we value the most often points to who we are. Jesus invites us, in the privacy of our own hearts, to honestly name what is most important for us, and to measure that against his gospel message.
