Invest In Hope: When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come.” John 2:3-4 The words of Jesus resonate with us: we don’t always know when it’s our time to act, when it’s our time to step up to the plate. As happened in Jesus’ life, let’s be open to hearing that our hour has come, that now is the time to act in grace and encouragement. Annual Meeting: The St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Annual Meeting will be held on January 30, 2022 during the 10AM service. It is very important for all members of the church to attend this meeting. We will be electing two new Bishop’s Committee Members and four Delegates to Convention. We will be discussing the year end of 2021, the 2022 budget and the future of St. Mark’s. Food Pantry: The January 2022 Food Pantry distribution will be on Tuesday, 01/11/2022, 8AM-11AM and Tuesday, 01/25/2022 8AM-11AM. We will be setting up on the Monday before, 8AM-11AM. Because of the United Food Bank delivery schedules, Tuesday, February 15, 8AM-11AM will be our only distribution for the month of February. Our set up day will be Monday, February 14, 8AM-11AM. Volunteers are welcome and appreciated! Come any of these days or all six days! Join our team and help feed the hungry in our community! May God bless you for supporting St. Mark’s Food Pantry! January Tithing: St. Mark’s is still present and desperately needs your support. If you normally bring an envelope with a check to church, you can instead mail that envelope to the church office, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 322 N Horne St, Mesa, AZ 85203. If you usually give loose cash to the church, you can instead write a check and mail, or you can donate via the PayPal button on the right or here through FaithStreet - on the "Choose a Fund" drop down menus, scroll to choose "St. Mark's, Mesa". You can also do online payments through your bank, through the Bill Pay option. You could even set up a recurring payment through your bank if you wish, so you will not forget. God Bless and Stay Safe, Dianne Nunez, Stewardship/Finance Chair. MarkDowns Thrift Store: The thrift store is OPEN on Friday and Saturday from 9AM till 1PM. Invest In Hope: “And the Word became flesh and lived among us” John 1:14 As we continue to meditate on the incarnation of God as Jesus Christ, let us give thanks for Jesus’ example and strive to cultivate the virtue of humility. Everything we have comes from Him. Pledge Drive: Please turn in your 2022 Pledge to the Church Office as soon as possible. Our The Stewardship/Finance Committee is working hard to finalize our budget. Have faith that God will let you be generous with what He has given you. Giving Envelopes: Giving Envelopes for 2022 are available in the Narthex, starting this Sunday. They are in alphabetical order. Because we ordered fewer envelopes (savin' money!!), many people had their number changed, but you will see that when you look at your envelopes' numbers. For those of you not attending yet, please let us know if we should mail your envelopes to you OR if you want to come by the church on the days we are open and pick up your envelopes. Bishops Committee and Convention Delegates: If you would like to be a candidate for the Bishops Committee or a delegate to the 2022 Annual Diocesan Convention in Tucson, please contact Randy Rogers or Fr. Food Pantry: Our Food Pantry will continue to operate by out-side, drive thru distribution on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. We need help from volunteers who are physically able to push carts loaded with food to families' cars. Our distributions in January will be on January 11 and 25 from 7am to 11am. Our set up day is the Monday prior from 8am to 10am. We would like and appreciate help from volunteers on both days, but any time you can spare would be most appreciated! Food Pantry Volunteers are all vaccinated and clients are asked to wear masks and stay in their cars. We welcome you to join our mission to feed the hungry in Mesa!
