Jesus’ message was often one of challenge and rebuke. We can imagine that most hearers of this comment were probably angry, but perhaps a few pondered his words and experienced a change of heart. A change of heart… sometimes a necessary part of the life of a Christian. Do The Work Of The One Who Sent You” Jesus said, “We must do the work of the one who sent me.” John 9:4 We are entering the summer months where some of our St. Mark's family has returned to their cooler homes, and where some retreat to vacations or hibernate during the hot weather. You will be happy to know our air conditioner in the main church has been repaired, after waiting many months for the new unit to arrive. You can come to church on Sunday and enjoy the comforts of home with your family and friends, while you praise God and break bread together. This is a time when it is SO important to remember to make you heart-felt giving donations to St. Mark's. We are still here even if you are not. The many ministries you love are still going strong. We need your continued support of time, talent and most importantly treasure. You can give by cash, check, or credit card online. Go to our website and click on either PayPal or FaithStreet to donate. You can set up a recurring payment so you don't forget when you're out of town. Every penny you donate is an investment in the future of St. Mark's. We cannot do it without you! Halloween Party: Bring the kids to a fun Halloween Party in the Parish Hall and Courtyard Saturday October 28th from 3pm to 6pm. There will be a bounce house, games, cake walk, crafts, and food (available for purchase). We will also have Doom Buggy Rides in the parking lot. Wear your costumes and join in the fun! If you would like to donate money towards the bounce house or some candy, we would love that. Bring candy donations marked "Halloween Party" to the kitchen. We also need donations of cakes and/or cupcakes for the cake walk. Donations can be check or cash envelope marked "Halloween Party" and can be given to Judy Hossack or Dianne Nunez, or put in the offering plate. Thank you! We also welcome volunteers who basically want to help us from home, doing such projects as ironing, sorting through our greeting cards, all at the leisure of your own home. Open every Friday and Saturday 9:00 to 1:00 and in conjunction with the Food pantry distribution schedule every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 8- noon. Daughters of the King: The Daughters of the King would like your help in supporting a local domestic abuse center. This center places a strong emphasis in encouraging families to look for positive aspects in their lives, despite going through tremendous hardships and struggles. One way to assist them is to provide gratitude journals. We are going to decorate these journals and fill them with positive affirmations. We are asking help in providing any of the following: journals, individually wrapped pens, PA jagged of water color pencils, stickers and sheet protectors.
