Together in Faith: The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. Isaiah 61:1-2a

These familiar words of the prophet are welcome during Advent… really, at any time. For God’s spirit has fallen upon each of us, and in our own way, each of us has been anointed to bring good news, to bind up, to proclaim liberty and release. Think of those who will experience the Lord’s favor through our faith and our actions.

Bishop's Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there will be an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. The liaisons will bring all comments to the monthly meeting of the Bishop's Committee to be addressed as appropriate. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Paige Stalcup.

Christmas Flowers: Remember a loved one or offer thanks in our Christmas Eve service bulletins. Please fill out a Christmas Flowers form found in the pew pocket or Narthex and enclose it with your payment in the envelope provided. Forms and money are due no later than TODAY.

Convention Delegates: If you would like to be a candidate for delegate to the 2018 Annual Diocesan Convention in Phoenix, please contact Gloria in the office. All members in good standing in the Episcopal Church are eligible to run. Delegates will be elected at the Annual Parish Meeting on Sunday, January 21, 2018.

Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will be Sunday, January 21st. There will be one bilingual service at 10 am, and the meeting will be conducted during the service. There will be a review of 2017 ministry highlights, presentation of the 2018 budget, election of 2018 Bishop’s Committee members, and election of delegates to the 2018 Diocesan Convention. Following the service, there will be a pot-luck lunch in Knight Hall. Please bring a dish to share.

Bibles: MarkDowns Thrift Store needs bibles! They hand them out for free and they are going through them quickly. Spanish and English bibles are needed please!

Junior Warden Schedule: Our Junior Warden, Bob Cheatham, will be keeping regularly scheduled hours at the office: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 8-10 am performing various maintenance duties; also every Friday from 7 am-11 am performing beautification, and property maintenance.
