Together in Faith: Then Jesus asked his disciple, “Do you see these great Temple buildings? Not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down.” Mark 13:2
As Jesus enters Jerusalem for the last time and nears his arrest and execution, he reminds his disciples that the important thing is not great buildings or great wealth, but a willingness to commit ourselves to what is truly important.
Bishop's Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there is an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. The liaisons will bring all comments to the monthly meeting of the Bishop's Committee to be addressed as appropriate. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Maureen Davies.
Commitment Sunday: November 25th is the day we turn in our pledge cards with our financial commitment for 2019 in support of the mission of St. Mark’s. During the service we will ask you to come forward with your signed pledge card, and we’ll gather them together and offer them up to God in prayer. If you didn’t receive a pledge card in the mail, you may find one in the pew pocket on that day. If you have yet to decide on your giving for 2019, please consider that the church depends on the support of all here to sustain the many ministries here. We ask that all who attend St. Mark’s, both our full-time and seasonal members, take seriously their responsibility for financial stewardship of the parish and consider making a generous pledge of support.
Thank You!: A big heartfelt thank you from the Food Pantry for all of your generous donations for our annual Thanksgiving food drive. St. Mark’s was able to assist many families in having a blessed and happy Thanksgiving.
Sale at Mark Downs: The Thrift Store will have NEW UNUSED items for sale on Sundays during the coffee hour, between 8:45 and 9:45. So come and browse and make your selections. The Thrift Store continues to be opened on Sundays from 8:45-9:45 AM., between the 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM services.
Calling Bishop’s Committee Candidates: Will you consider running? As a candidate, you will need to be a member in good standing, committed to growing spiritually, and supportive of both the mission and ministries of our church. If you meet these expectations and would like to explore serving on the Bishop’s Committee, please contact Fr. Gerardo at 480-964-5820 no later than December, 14th.
