Re“Mark”able News - 26 August 2018

8/26/2018

Today's Readings: 1 Kings 8:22-30, 41-43; Psalm 84; Ephesians 6:10-20; John 6:56-69

Noticias Re"Mark"adas (anuncios espanol)

Together in Faith: Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:68-69

“Where else can we go?” asked Peter. Many who heard Jesus speak and saw what he did came to the same conclusion. We are their spiritual descendants… and it is part of our task to pass on the faith to our descendants. This is a difficult task today. The example of how we live our lives may well be the most powerful way of influencing others to seek Jesus and follow after him. Bishop's

Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there is an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. The liaisons will bring all comments to the monthly meeting of the Bishop's Committee to be addressed as appropriate. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Caleb Collins.

St. Mark’s Singers: The St. Mark’s Singers are beginning rehearsals on Thursday, September 6th at 7pm. If you are interested in improving your singing skills and lending your voice to this important ministry, please contact Chris Perry. You may send him an email at chris_perry@me.com, call him at (602) 414-9265 or talk to him after the service.

Sale at MarkDowns: The Thrift Store will have NEW UNUSED items for sale on Sundays during the coffee hour, between 8:45 and 9:45. So come and browse and make your selections. The Thrift Store continues to be opened on Sundays from 8:45-9:45 AM., between the 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM services. Also, we need volunteers especially now due to several people having health issues. We need to have at least two people to have the store open otherwise it has to close. All our profits go to help with the church's expenses.

Women’s Shelter: Daughters of the King will be accepting donations for the Women’s Shelter. Please place hygiene products in the box provided in the narthex. We would like toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, socks, underwear, and other feminine hygiene products.

  • ECW & M: September 9, 11:15 am
