Noticias Re"Mark"adas (anuncios espanol) Together in Faith: “Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.” John 17:11 Jesus asks his followers to be sources of unity, instruments of cooperation, activists in the cause of love. Undoubtedly Jesus knew all too well how difficult a task that is… which is why he made it such a point of emphasis. We Christians are called to a very high calling… to be channels of peace, justice and love. Bishop's Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there will be an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. The liaisons will bring all comments to the monthly meeting of the Bishop's Committee to be addressed as appropriate. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is Bob Cheatham. Summer Sunday Service Change and Important Lion’s Den Info: As previously mentioned we will be changing our summer Sunday service schedule. Beginning on June 4th (Pentecost) we will have ONE English service on Sundays at 10 am. In regards to Lion's Den, beginning the following weekend after Pentecost, we will switch to having donuts and coffee (provided by the Church) instead of ministries bringing food. The ministry assigned to that Sunday's Lion's Den will STILL be responsible for making coffee, set up and clean up before and after but they will not need to bring food. Fr. Gerardo feels this will be a welcome break for all the ministries this summer as well. Our regular service times and Lion's Den hosting responsibilities are anticipated to return in September. Summer Food Drive: This summer when kids are home from school, there will be an increased need for wholesome snacks for needy families. The Food Pantry is having a peanut butter/cereal drive this summer. If you would like to donate there will be a designated box in the Narthex. Pentecost is coming: Please join YOUR voice to our multilingual "group reading" of Acts 2:1-21! We need people of all ages with a reading knowledge of any language or dialect. The passage we will read is short (Acts 2, verses 5-11 only); your rendition need not be "perfect"; if you're shy, don't worry -- you won't be "in the spotlight"; and we'll even print out a translation for you. In past years, the Pentecost message has been heard in Arabic, English, French, German, Gullah, Igbo, Kikuyu, Latin, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese... We may need more than one speaker of each language -- the more, the better! Please contact Jan Northcutt: [email protected] or 480-621-0085. Let's make a "joyful noise" to the Lord!
