Together in Faith: Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb. John 20:1

What led Mary to get up so early and visit the tomb of Jesus? To spend some quiet time near his resting place? To revisit his words of encouragement and compassion? To gain strength to remain faithful to his message? Each of these would be wonderful Easter gifts for us.

Bishop's Committee Parishioner Liaison: Every week there will be an assigned member of the Bishop's Committee to serve as a Parishioner Liaison. We encourage parishioners to seek out this assigned member whenever there is a suggestion, question or concern. The liaisons will bring all comments to the monthly meeting of the Bishop's Committee to be addressed as appropriate. This week’s Parishioner Liaison is John Ddamba.

St. Mark’s Day: Next Sunday, April 23rd is our St. Mark’s Day celebration with one bilingual service at 10 am and potluck to follow in Knight Hall. Please bring a dish to share while we honor our church’s patron saint with worship and fellowship!

Literacy Day: St. Mark’s will be hosting its second literacy day on Saturday, April 29th from 9:00-11:30. All Edison first-graders and their families will be invited to attend this event as well as the children from St. Mark’s. The morning will be packed with storytelling, crafts, free books, food and more. We want to keep kids reading over the summer and to support our mission of outreach to our neighbors. Junior Warden Schedule: Our current Junior Warden, Bob Cheatham, will be keeping regularly scheduled hours at the office: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 9-11 am performing various maintenance duties; also every Friday from 9 am-Noon performing beautification, and property maintenance.
