Together in Faith: Then (the crucified man) said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” He replied, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” Luke 23:42-43 As so often during his life, Jesus reached out to someone with words of encouragement and promise. Surely we can do the same! How can we encourage and support those who need what we have to offer? Thanksgiving Celebration: Please join us for a Thanksgiving Celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, for a service of Holy Eucharist at 10 am, followed by our annual Thanksgiving feast. We are asking that you contribute a potluck dish to the meal. Beverages will be provided. Feel free to bring your family and friends along. If you plan on joining us, please sign up between the services on Sundays. 2017 Pledge of Support: Today is the day we turn in our pledge cards with our financial commitment for 2017 in support of the mission of St. Mark’s. During the service we will ask you to come forward with your signed pledge card, and we’ll gather them together and offer them up to God in prayer. If you didn’t receive a pledge card in the mail, you may find one in the pew pocket or request one from an usher. If you have yet to decide on your giving for 2017, please consider that the church depends on the support of all here to sustain the many ministries here. We ask that all who attend St. Mark’s, both our full-time and seasonal members, take seriously their responsibility for financial stewardship of the parish and consider making a generous pledge of support. Thank you! Christmas Compassion: This year St. Mark’s will sponsor five low income families with children at Christmas. We would like the families to enjoy a full beautiful Christmas with a tree, decorations, dinner, and gifts of clothes and toys. We will gather donations and purchase gift cards for groceries, gas, and department stores. This will facilitate the purchase of clothes and toys, to avoid sizes and gender lists. Pre-owned, good condition Christmas trees and decorations will be appreciated. Anyone willing to help with this project, please contact Fr. Gerardo Brambila or Gloria McManus in the office. Thanksgiving Donations: Food Pantry volunteers will be in the Lion’s Den between services collecting donations toward the purchase of Thanksgiving gift cards this year. We are giving $10.00 Food City gift cards this year instead of turkeys. United Food Bank informed us they could not supply us with turkeys because the cost of turkeys had become prohibitive. We hope to give all our families a gift card, which they can use to purchase their choice of meat for Thanksgiving. Upcoming Ministry Meetings:
